One of the purposes of writing fiction is to escape reality; this is true for both the author and reader. When I write my blog, I ignore what is going on in the news. I want this site to be a place where people can come and get away from the noises that bombard us every day. I do talk about writing, but as you can tell, I am beginning to expand creative writing days. I do plan to broaden the number of days in the future.
Sometimes reality has to get noticed. I live in the Charlotte area. For those who may not know, it is the skyline you find at the top of my page. While we are not going to get Hurricane Irma’s greatest fury, most models agree this area will feel an impact. The most likely damage will be flooding and loss of power. I live on top of a hill. While flooding can still happen, we are not in a flood plain. There is a good likelihood we will lose power if the winds are as high as they think.
I am writing this now because tomorrow is Lucius turn, and I will not deny him his time. He is very excited to tell you about his beach trip with my wife and me. I do not write the blog on the weekends. I am currently writing three books to be released together in addition to the blog. I try to give my hands a break on the weekends.
Irma is due to arrive Monday. If you do not see a post for a day or two, we have lost the internet. I do not want any of my readers to think I am suddenly dropping the number of days I am writing, or think something has happened to me beyond a weather issue.
With that out of the way, please be sure and check tomorrow afternoon eastern time for Lucius’ post.
