The final weeks leading up to a book’s release are always exciting. This is especially true for a novel you have been working on for the past year. As I posted earlier today, the author copies arrived this week. Although receiving the software copy of the cover signals the book is near the end, it is when you hold the physical work of your hands that the warm feeling of accomplishment washes over you.
Another milestone arrived today. My paper copy of my copyright for the book. I have already had two times on Amazon where I needed proof of my copyright, so I know how important the registration is. If you do not have one, and you have published any works, get one. They are $55, which is probably the least expensive thing you will purchase for your book.
Looking at the paper and seeing your work registered with the Library of Congress is a great feeling.
